SUV Rollover Reveals Defective Seat Belt
Doe, 30, was driving a 1995 Geo Tracker sport-utility vehicle and was wearing her seat belt when a vehicle traveling behind her collided with her SUV.
The SUV rolled over , Doe’s window broke, and her seat back deformed. She suffered lacerations to her face and scalp, a closed head injury, spinal strains, and contusions to the chest and abdomen.
Doe’s medical expenses totaled $33,000. A medical student, she has been able to continue her studies but her ability to obtain part-time employment while in school has been limited.
Doe sued the SUV and seat belt manufacturers, alleging that the vehicle and seat belt system were unreasonably dangerous.
